Nurse who contracted Ebola in Texas is now suing hospital

Nina Pham, the first person to contract Ebola on U.S. soil has filed a lawsuit against the hospital where she contracted the deadly virus. Furthermore, Pham, who works at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, filed her suit on Monday against Texas Health Resources for failing to provide her with adequate equipment and training to protect her from contracting Ebola. Likewise, Pham is seeking unspecified damages for pain, mental anguish, medical expenses, and loss of future earnings.

Additionally, Pham also alleges Texas Health Resources violated HIPAA regulations by sharing her personal medical records publicly. Amber Vinson was another nurse who contracted Ebola from the Liberian patient, Thomas Eric Duncan; he later succumbed to the virus. Pham is still working at the same hospital where she contracted the virus and is suing. Although Pham hasn't physically returned to work due to fatigue and body aches, she is still receiving a paycheck.
