Officials have recently added Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois to the never-ending list of businesses that have suffered security breaches. In addition, the school's computers have been infected by malicious software, and two of them contained personal information of employees, former employees, and retirees of the university. Currently the malware has been deactivated, but that hasn't stopped social security numbers and other personal information from being compromised.
Likewise, Bradley has already been notified that some employees have suffered fraudulent tax return filings. The FBI, school staff members, and external helpers are currently investigating the issue. As a result the university is offering all employees a one-year subscription to credit monitoring and identification protection services. Please click here for more information.
