Six Flags Hurricane Harbor of St. Louis Guest Suffers Neck Injury on Waterslide

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor of St. Louis Guest Suffers Neck Injury on Waterslide

Ms. Sondra Thornhill was visiting Six Flags Hurricane Harbor of St. Louis, Missouri with some friends on Saturday, June 23rd, 2018. The group decided to checkout a new, popular attraction — the “Typhoon Twister” waterslide. While on the waterslide, which boasts a multistory plummet, Sondra was ejected from her raft. She clung to the raft and slammed back down onto the waterslide, suffering a neck injury.

Six Flags park officials attended to Sondra by offering her an icepack and ibuprofen for pain and swelling. The Typhoon Twister was also shut down after her accident. Sondra’s neck pain continued to worsen as the day went on, and she ultimately chose to go to urgent care for medical attention. A CAT scan and x-ray revealed that she had suffered whiplash in the accident.

Our St. Louis personal injury lawyers of Meyerkord & Meyerkord, LLC have been contacted by Ms. Thornhill. We are currently conducting an investigation led by Attorney Geoff Meyerkord into the potential dangers of the Typhoon Twister waterslide. The objective of our investigation is discovering if the accident is an isolated incident, or if the design of the ride could cause a similar accident to happen to another rider in the future. Pending the ongoing investigations, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor has not yet reopened the waterslide to members of the public.
