Cuisinart Recalls Over 8 Million Food Processors

Conair is recalling over 8 million
Cuisinart food processors due to potential laceration hazards. Cuisinart reports that the riveted
blade on the processor can crack over time and release small, metal pieces
broke from the blade into food. This recall includes 22 model numbers
which are found on the bottom of the processor. Only processors that contain
four blade rivets are being recalled. There have been 69 reports of broken
blade pieces in processed food and 30 consumers have experienced tooth
injuries or mouth lacerations. These products were sold at gourmet, specialty
and department stores from July 1996 through December 2015. The company
advises consumers to discontinue use of the riveted blade and contact
the company directly for a free blade replacement.
This recall poses a real danger due to the large number of food processors
that are being recalled. Millions of consumers have this product in their
homes and are at risk for serious injuries. Unfortunately, there are thousands
of products that are recalled each year. Luckily, consumers are protected
by product liability laws which help hold companies, manufacturers, distributors,
and retailers liable for damages, illnesses, or injuries that are caused
by their products. Serious injuries can result in large medical bills.
Always contact a product liability lawyer if you are injured by a faulty
or defective product. An experienced attorney will investigate your injuries
and determine if you have grounds to pursue compensation from the company
who is responsible for the defective product.
