A tragic accident occurred on Saturday, around eight in the morning. A car headed northbound on Highway 9 hit a man walking on the highway, which is located around Yorktown. Right after striking the walker, the driver of the vehicle helped the man and called for help. Tragically, the man passed away at the hospital after the accident. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were not injured. Allegedly, the man who was walking was wearing clothes that were a dark color, which made it hard for the driver of the vehicle to see him. The accident is still being looked into for further information. This is the third tragic accident that has occurred on this road in the past two weeks. Recently before this accident, a car collided with a semi-truck after veering over the center line of the highway, which resulted in the death of one of the passengers of the car. Additionally, before that accident occurred, a passenger in a vehicle passed away after the vehicle had lost control and hit another vehicle.
