At Meyerkord & Kurth, we believe that careless, negligent and irresponsible individuals should be held responsible for their actions. Last year, a drunk driver allegedly caused a car accident on the I-270, killing two children and injuring other motorists and passengers. Today, seven plaintiffs are filling six lawsuits against the bar that allowed the man to leave the premises drunk. According to the lawsuits, the man was seen at a bar the night of the accident. When a co-worker noticed his "obvious intoxication," she confiscated his keys and gave them to the bartender.
Apparently, the bartender turned over the keys to another employee, who eventually gave them to the motorist. After leaving the bar, the man allegedly caused the car accident that killed several victims and injury others. Today, Meyerkord & Kurth is handling six wrongful death suits triggered by the accident. Two children were killed in the accident, and their parents are suing the bar for funeral costs, support, companionship, guidance, advice, and love and affection. Other plaintiffs suffered physical injuries, lost wages and underwent pain and suffering. Each plaintiff is suing for more than $150,000.
