Two women killed in separate pedestrian accidents

Interstate 270 in St. Louis, MO was closed early Friday morning after a pedestrian was struck and killed. The accident happened when a 31-year-old man was attempting to cross-northbound lanes of the road just near Ladue Road when he was struck. The driver of the vehicle stopped after the accident, and has been very cooperative with police. An investigation is pending. To learn more about this accident, please click here.

In an unrelated accident involving a pedestrian, a semi truck struck a person in Dubuque, Iowa. In addition, this accident happened Thursday morning when a 45-year-old woman was hit and killed at the intersection of Dodge and Locust Streets. According to police, the woman was attempting to cross the street from the east side when she stepped in front of the semi.

48-year-old, Dennis Schulte was the driver of the semi, and in the process of turning left when he missed seeing the woman, and struck her. Sadly, the woman was killed upon impact. There is a sidewalk that goes underneath the area where to woman was truck, and police are unsure why she tried to cross the busy intersection without using the special pass way.
