White Peppermint Twinkies Recalled, Possible Salmonella Contamination

Hostess Brands, LLC has voluntarily recalled the Holiday White Peppermint Hostess Twinkies due to possible salmonella from milk powder used in the products. The powder in question comes from Blommer Chocolate Company and is found in the coating on the twinkies. Several other companies have recalled their products after being alerted of the possible powder contamination. The Hostess recall only affects the White Peppermint Hostess Twinkies with UPC 888109111571. These are sold in multipack boxes that contain nine individually wrapped treats. There haven’t been any reported illnesses from the Twinkies, but Hostess recommends that consumers return any boxes to the store for a refund.

Product liability laws were established to help protect consumers from injuries or illnesses that are caused by faulty, defective or tainted products. Manufacturers, companies, distributors, and retailers are responsible for producing, distributing and selling safe and reliable products to all consumers. They are also responsible for alerting consumers of possible safety issues with any of their products. Most times consumers can return the product in question to the store for a full refund or the company will send replacement parts to consumers directly. However, there are instances where these faulty or defective products cause injuries to consumers and may mean that the company is liable for your injuries. Always contact a product liability attorney if you or a loved one is injured due to a faulty or defective product. An experienced attorney will assist you with any questions or concerns and determine if you have grounds to pursue legal action.
