Curio Designs Recalls Lights Due to Shock and Fire Hazards

Curio Designs is recalling their modular lights and bases due to potential shock and fire hazards. The company reported that the lamp pieces could crack during assembly and the lamp bases have faulty wires, which can pose a shock and fire hazard. The company is recalling around 1,500 modules which include Table Starter Kits, Expansion Kits, Tri-bases and Hanging Starter Kits. These kits let the consumer design their light fixture by adding or subtracting candelabra bulbs and Y-pieces. There haven’t been any injuries reported, but the company states that consumers should immediately stop using these products. They say to contact the company to receive a replacement lamp or a refund.

Product liability laws help protect consumers from faulty or defective products and the injuries that they can cause. Sadly, most companies are not aware that their products have problems until consumers either report faulty items or are injured. Most times recalled products can be returned for a refund or the consumer is given replacement parts to fix the product. Companies hold a responsibility to alert consumers of potentially harmful products by issuing a recall. However, sometimes injuries happen before a recall is issued. If you experience injuries from faulty or defective products, contact a product liability attorney. An attorney will be able to answer any questions and concerns you may have and discuss your case. They will assess your injuries and can pursue legal action for compensation, holding the company liable for any expenses you have incurred.
