Tractor-trailer, Two Pickup Trucks Involved In Deadly Crash In Tennessee

|

Three people died over the weekend in a tractor-trailer crash in Tennessee. Police say the three-truck accident occurred Saturday night on State Highway 52 in Macon County near Westside Elementary School. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a tractor-trailer lost control while driving in heavy rain, causing it’s trailer to swing out as it slid into the oncoming lane. A pickup truck slid underneath the trailer, ripping off the cab. A second pickup truck then hit the rear of the trailer. The tractor-trailer overturned and came to rest in a deep ravine.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports three people died in the crash and were pronounced deceased at the scene. The THP says it is unclear what vehicles the victims were riding in at this time, but a thorough investigation is ongoing. None of the identities have been released.
