Algood Police say the accident happened on Wednesday around 9:30 a.m. when a witnesses called the station to report a 2-year-old boy walking down a road near train tracks. The witnesses say they were driving when they spotted the scared toddler running and crying along Main Street. The police determined that the toddler wandered off while on the playground and away from a distracted employee. When the officer did an inspection of the playground, he found a door unlocked. Police say they notify the Department of Children’s Services. A DCS spokesperson said the facility was already under inspection and a special investigations unit is looking into the incident.
