|

A fatal vehicle accident took place in Cobb County, Georgia on Thursday around 4:00 in the morning. Reportedly, a driver lost control of his BMW on I-75 South and struck another vehicle. As a result of the collision, the BMW overturned, ejecting the driver. Tragically, the man passed away at the scene of the accident. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to receive medical attention for minor injuries.

According to the Association for Safe International Road Travel, about 1.3 fatalities and 20-50 million injuries and disabilities occur as a result of road crashes every year. A lot of these crashes can be related to loss of vehicle control, which can be caused by a number of reasons. The top three causes of vehicle accidents- speeding, distracted driving, and driving under the influence- each can result in the loss of control of their vehicle. Other causes include sudden braking, sudden turn of the wheel, and driving on poor road conditions.
