Car Plows Into Home For The Second Time This Year

|

California, Lakeside residents once again sustained major property damage when a driver plowed into their home. The accident happened late Thursday night, making this the second time a motorist has crashed into their home. Police report around 11 p.m. a driver of the car crashed into a house on Castle Court Drive and Los Coches Road. The family was inside the home at the time of the crash, but no one was injured. Authorities say the driver of the car was hurt and taken to a nearby hospital.

Investigators say it appears the driver veered off the road, drove through a stop sign, crashed into a brand-new car and slammed into the wall of the house before coming to a stop. The brand-new car was parked in the home’s driveway and was seriously damaged. The home also sustained heavy damage including a bedroom wall destroyed as well as furniture.

The homeowner told a local news station that she and her mother and grandmother were home at the time of the crash but were not in the part of the house where the crash took place. The woman stated that this type of accident happened just months prior when a drunk driver crashed into the home. The homeowner said no one was hurt, but she sustained property damage. The accident is still under investigation, and the authorities have yet to say if speeding or alcohol played a role in the crash. No charges have been filed, but police say they are in the process.
