American Idol winner Taylor Hicks escaped a potential plane crash this week when the private plane he was in malfunctioned. He was traveling from Tennessee to Alabama when an engine blew. Quick thinking by the pilot saved all on board after blowing pistons, oil leakage and the engine and rotor blade stopping completely. The twin-engine plane was a privately owned aircraft and landed in Jasper, Alabama at a rural airport. Luckily, Hicks and all passengers on board were not injured.
