Fatal Auto Accident Kills One

|

A person is dead after a fatal vehicle accident on US 23, just south of Delaware, Ohio. Officials report the accident occurred just after 10 a.m. near Cheshire Road. Authorities stated that a southbound female driver tried to make a left turn onto Cheshire Road when a tow truck traveling north on US 23 struck the vehicle. The woman died at the scene of the crash. It is unknown if the driver of the tow truck received medical attention. The investigation is still underway, and police are questioning whether the female driver used her turn signal. Authorities have not released her identity.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention ranks vehicular accidents as one of the leading causes of death in the United States. The CDC reports over 30,000 people die each year in fatal vehicular accidents. In 2013, fatal vehicular accidents cost almost 44 billion in the loss of work wages and medical bills. This unbelievable amount does not even account for the hardships families face after the loss of a loved one.
