Drunk Driving Suspected in Crash that Killed 8-Year-Old

On Sunday afternoon, an 8-year-old boy was enjoying being a kid when his life was cut short in a possible DUI accident. The boy was riding his skateboard in Payson, Utah a day after his birthday celebration. As he and his sister were riding skateboards near the intersection of 680 West and 1000 South, a woman struck the boy with her car. The 38-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of operating her vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol. She volunteered blood and urine samples and preliminary results indicate she was under the influence. The details of the charges have not yet been made known. The accident remains under investigation while the family is devastated.
