Wentzville Auto Accident Kills Three, Injures One

|

An auto accident on Thursday morning claimed the lives of three people and seriously injured a fourth near Wentzville. The accident happened around 7:45 a.m. and involved three vehicles. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, a male driver was traveling north on Highway 61 when he veered into the other lane and struck a car occupied by four individuals, including two young children. The impact forced both vehicles to travel across the median and collide with a third vehicle. A woman, a child under the age of 10, and an infant were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Another individual was taken to the hospital and is listed in critical condition. Another driver suffered minor injuries and is being treated at a local hospital. Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash but believe that icy conditions may have been a factor.

During this time of year, the weather conditions can complicate travel. Drivers should operate their vehicle cautiously to avoid an auto accident. Unfortunately, reckless and negligent driving leads to thousands of car accidents each year. Dangerous roadways, vehicle design flaws, and mechanical defects are also common factors in auto accidents. Most individuals involved in auto accidents suffer injuries, property damages, and death. If you have sustained damages in an accident that was caused by the negligence of another party, you could be entitled to compensation.
