IL Teen Killed in Single-Vehicle Accident

|

A single-vehicle accident happened in central Illinois on Wednesday claiming the life of a teen driver. At around 1 p.m., 19-year-old Antonia Gomer was operating her vehicle, traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 67 when she lost control and crashed near Manchester-Alsey Road. The vehicle overturned several times before coming to rest off of the roadway. Emergency personnel transported Gomer to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. Authorities determine she was not using her cellphone and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The investigation continues to determine a cause.

Single-vehicle accidents are one of the many types of auto accidents that happen on nearly a regular basis. Several victims of single-vehicle accidents assume that they do not have grounds to file an auto accident case. However, auto accidents are caused by several factors not only mistakes by the driver. Vehicle design flaws, dangerous roadways, and mechanical defects are also responsible for thousands of preventable accidents that happen each year.
