Pedestrian Accident on I-44 Results in Death

Interstate 44 was closed for a couple hours this morning as authorities investigated a pedestrian accident. According to police, at approximately 4:00 a.m. a man was struck along eastbound I-44 between Kingshighway and Hampton Avenue in South St. Louis. Tragically, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and authorities are continuing to investigate the incident. Few details have been released regarding the accident, including the identity of the deceased.
