A nurse at a VA hospital is facing multiple charges after working on a surgery while intoxicated. The incident happened in Pennsylvania when the male nurse was on-call during the evening of February 4. The nurse had been gambling at a local casino and consuming alcohol. He returned home when he received the call to report to work to assist with an emergency appendectomy. The nurse admitted to being intoxicated and has been charged with recklessly endangering another person, public drunkenness, and DUI. He has been relieved of his duties at the hospital while the investigation continues.
