I-70 in Kansas City Site of Rollover Accident

During the early hours of Monday, a rollover accident occurred on Interstate 70 in Kansas City, resulting in the death of one individual. According to the Kansas City police, the accident happened at around 12:30 a.m. when a driver was operating an SUV traveling eastbound and lost control of the vehicle. He collided with the concrete median, causing the vehicle to overturn and land in the westbound lanes of I-70 near Blue Ridge Cutoff. During the crash, the driver was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. As police officers responded to the accident, one officer’s squad car was struck from behind by another motorist. Both the police officer and the driver suffered injuries and were transported to the hospital for injuries suffered. Authorities closed Interstate 70 for several hours to investigate both accidents.

There are numerous types of auto accidents, as well as factors that can cause them. Head-on collisions, rear-end crashes, truck accidents, motorcycle crashes, and SUV rollovers, are just a few examples of auto accidents that can result in serious injuries and death. While SUV rollovers can be caused by the reckless and negligent actions of the driver, they can also be caused by vehicle design flaws. SUVs are prone to rollover accidents due to their higher center of gravity. However, a design flaw can cause the SUV to overturn when it should not. To determine if a design flaw caused your accident, it is imperative to consult an experienced auto accident attorney.
