DUI Crash Kills Mother of Two

A DUI Crash claimed the life of a mother of two on Friday. According to authorities, a 21-year-old male driver was operating his vehicle after he had consumed a large amount of alcohol at a company party. Early Friday morning, the man’s car crossed the median line on Highway 321 and collided with the victim’s vehicle head-on near the Lexington Industrial Park, South Carolina. Tragically, the mother of two was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and the driver has been charged with felony DUI.

Today, an average of 28 people were killed in auto accidents caused by drunk drivers, according to Mother’s Against Drunk Driving. In fact, it is estimated that every day DUI accidents result in the death of 28 individuals and seriously injure people every two minutes. While reckless and negligent driving is responsible for the vast majority of all auto accidents, choosing to operate a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol is one of the most reckless forms of driving. Not only is the driver risking their own lives, they are also risking the lives of other innocent travelers.
