During the early hours of Saturday, a man was killed in an auto accident that occurred on a Chicago toll road. At around 3:30 a.m., a 30-year-old man was operating a vehicle eastbound on Interstate 80/90 near the West Point Toll Plaza when he attempted to pass a semi-truck when he struck another vehicle. All drivers involved in the accident pulled over along the side of the roadway and a fourth vehicle struck the 30-year-old’s vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and the accident is being investigated.
It is not uncommon to read a media report regarding an auto accident. This is due to the large number of traffic accidents that occur each year, often resulting in serious injuries and deaths. Tragically, the vast majority of all auto accidents are preventable and caused by a form of negligence. Reckless driving, vehicle design flaws, dangerous roadways, and mechanical defects are some of the most common examples that lead to an auto accident. If you have been injured in a traffic crash, you may have grounds to file an auto accident case to hold the negligent party responsible and recover compensation for your damages.
