A vehicle accident took place on Wednesday evening, around 4:59 p.m. in Carroll County along Interstate 77. A car veered off of the roadway and struck a guardrail before coming back onto the road. When the vehicle got back into a lane of traffic, a tractor-trailer swerved left and braked to avoid a collision. However, as a result, it sparked a chain of crashes with two other tractor-trailers. There were two adults and three children in the first car, all of whom were taken to receive care for serious injuries. Additionally, none of the tractor-trailer drivers were injured in the crash. The road crash in under investigation for further information.
When operating a vehicle, it is important to be completely aware of your surroundings. While carrying out actions such as lane changes, it is important to use your signals to let other drivers know that you are carrying out that action. Swerving and other sudden actions may sometimes be necessary to avoid an accident, but other times, it can be extremely dangerous.
