Tiger Woods Faces Slip and Fall Lawsuit

|

A trial date has been scheduled for a lawsuit against Tiger Woods after a former police officer slipped and fell at Woods’ mansion back in 2010. The retired police officer was working a private security detail at the $50 million dollar Miami property when he slipped on wet marble and fell, injuring his knee. The lawsuit states that a sprinkler head was badly oriented and made the marble slippery. They site that an accident was “bound to happen” with those conditions. Woods’ attorney answered back citing that the security detail should have known that the pavement was slippery.

Slips, trips, and falls account for at least 45,000 injuries per year. While some may be minor injuries, there are instances where these can cause major injuries and even fatalities. Most slips, trips, and falls can be caused by slippery floor surfaces, inappropriate footwear, walkway obstructions and uneven surfaces. Don’t forget about falls from stationary structures and products such as ladders, porches, and balconies, just to name a few. Victims can sustain injuries from slip and falls and be stuck with many medical bills, physical therapy needs and even time off of work. Many wonder how they will pay for all of their needs after experiencing an injury. Contact a personal injury attorney anytime you are injured due to a trip, slip or fall.
