St. Louis County Auto Accident Involves Police Car

|

Traffic was slow for travelers on Interstate 270 Wednesday afternoon after an auto accident occurred involving a St. Louis County police car. According to authorities, at approximately 12:00 p.m. the police officer was traveling on Interstate 270 northbound when the accident happened near the Interstate 64 exit. While few details are available regarding the crash, it appears that at least one other vehicle was involved. Traffic was stalled for a couple of hours while the St. Louis County Police conducted their investigation.

Thousands of traffic accidents happen every year and can involve any type of vehicle on the roadway. Tractor-trailers, trucks, car and emergency vehicles are all standard vehicles that travel the roadways each day. Unfortunately, many of these accidents are avoidable and caused by negligence. Narrow curves, lack of shoulders, and inadequate signals are all examples of how negligence can be displayed on a dangerous roadway. Vehicle design flaws and mechanical defects are also examples of how negligence can lead to an auto accident. However, the most common cause of all traffic accidents is that of driver negligence. Distracted driving, speeding, DUI and aggressive driving are all examples of negligent driving.
