PA Apple Wedges Recalled Due to Listeria Contamination

The Dauberville, Pennsylvania Company, Appeeling Fruit Inc. is voluntarily recalling some of its packages of fresh sliced apples due to listeria contamination. In addition, the best-if-used-by dates are the following:

  • September 14, 2015
  • September 21, 2015

The recalled apples were shipped to foodservice, retail, and wholesale distributors in Florida, Massachusetts, New York, and Pennsylvania from August 31 through September 2, 2015.

If you believe you have some of the recalled product, do not eat it. The company is suggesting either throwing it away, or returning the product to the place it was purchased for a full refund. Furthermore, the company was alerted of the listeria contamination following an environmental sample, which was taken at the production facility during routine testing.
