Woman Sues Doctor For Sister's Death

A medical malpractice lawsuit has been filed by a woman claiming a Cook County, Illinois doctor is responsible for her sister’s death. The lawsuit is against physician M. Scott Peckler and North Suburban Surgical Consultants, LLC. The plaintiff, Kathleen Porreca, is the administer of the estate of her deceased sister, Jane Moroney, and is claiming that Peckler failed to diagnose and treat Moroney for a perforated colon. The complaint claims that Moroney was treated by Peckler at the Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in September of 2013 and that his negligence led to her death on June 8, 2014.
