Ohio Plane Crash Caught on Video

|

A plane crash in Ohio was caught on video when a woman nearby was on Snapchat. The plane crashed into an apartment building in Akron, Ohio on Tuesday afternoon. Paige McVeigh was on the website Snapchat and recorded the event. The plane, a Hawker H25, was approaching the Akron Fulton Airport when witnesses claim it clipped a building then crashed into the apartment building at approximately 3 p.m. The impact caused the plane and building to burst into flames near the Skeleton and Mogadore Roads. Authorities confirmed that the pilot and co-pilot were killed in the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the accident.

Aviation accidents are one of the most deadly and destructive types of accidents. Planes, jets, and helicopters travel at a high distance from the ground and high rates of speed resulting in devastating collisions. There are more vehicles on the roadways compared to aircraft in the sky resulting in fewer aviation accidents compared to auto accidents. However, the percentage of fatalities is higher in aviation accidents. The accident could have been caused by the negligence of the pilot, air traffic controllers, mechanical crew, or airline company. It is important to consult a skilled St. Louis aviation accident attorney to determine if you have grounds for a case.
