Pedestrian accidents claim the lives of thousands of individuals every year and driver negligence of often to blame. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention encourage all pedestrians to follow safety precautions to avoid an accident. Wearing reflective clothing, walking in well-lit areas, and walking on sidewalks and crosswalks when available will help protect a pedestrian from being struck by a vehicle.
