Driver Crashes into Officer at Auto Accident Scene

As police officers began their investigation at the scene of an auto accident, a driver crashed into the wreckage causing a police officer to sustain injuries, as well as another driver at the scene. The accident occurred Tuesday night in Webster Groves. The original accident happened at around 6:25 p.m. involving multi-vehicles on North Elm Street. As the officer was returning to his SUV, a vehicle collided with the patrol vehicle causing it to strike him. The SUV was then pushed into the vehicles involved in the initial accident. The police officer and one of the drivers from the other vehicles were transported to the hospital for injuries they sustained. The driver that caused the accident was arrested while authorities conducted an investigation.
