Florida Semi Truck Crash Damages Overpass

In Jacksonville, Florida interstate 295 is up and running again and ready for traffic. The massive backup near Dunn Avenue took place after a huge semi truck crash. Furthermore, the semi crash happened Monday evening when a semi that was hauling cars hit the wall, and damaged a pole on the overpass. To make matters worse, about 50 gallons of diesel fuel spilled out onto the roadway, which was cleaned up by HAZMAT crews.

The semi truck crash backed up traffic for nearly four miles due to the massive mess of fuel and cars piled all over the road. The semi truck driver walked away from the accident with luckily only minor injuries. For the time being, crews set up a temporary barrier until permanent ones were set in place. The cause for the semi truck accident is under investigation but authorities are thankful no other cars were involved.
