Man Killed in KC After Tire Crashes Through Windshield

Tragically, a Kansas City man has been killed in a freak car accident on Interstate 70. Likewise, the accident happened when a 23-year-old man was traveling eastbound on the Interstate near Blue Ridge when his vehicle went off the road and crashed into a tree line.

Investigators determined a tire from a westbound vehicle struck the man’s vehicle; they’re assuming it was a tire from a trailer. The man was taken to a nearby hospital but died the next evening. The 20-year-old female passenger in the vehicle suffered only non-life threatening injuries from the car crash. The tire also struck a second vehicle, but the driver of that car was unharmed.
