2-Year-Old New Jersey Child Rescued From Hot Van

Sadly it seems that leaving children in hot vehicles is an all too common mistake occurring nowadays. Furthermore, in Hackensack, New Jersey a mother left her 2-year-old daughter in a hot van while she went shopping at Costco. According to a video, the child is seen sitting inside of the parked van in the Costco parking lot while her mother is inside, shopping.

On the video the young child is seen profusely sweating and crying alone in the van. After quick thinking of the store’s manager, police were called to save the child. Police smashed the window of the vehicle and saved the little girl. After the officers ran the license plate on the van they found the mother shopping inside the store with another child, and cart full of groceries. When police confronted the mother, she simply said, “sorry.” The mother was then arrested and charged with child endangerment. The child is expected to make a full recovery, and is in the care of her father.
