Woman Killed in Semi Crash

Tragically a woman was killed Wednesday near in Maple Grove Township, Michigan when a semi truck struck her SUV. Furthermore, thesemi truck crash occurred on M-66, which is south of Nashville. According to police the semi crash happened near Assyria Road when the woman was heading north, and her vehicle crossed the centerline. As a result, the semi, which was heading south attempted to avoid striking her vehicle, but could not stop in time. Sadly, the side of the SUV hit the side of the semi truck.

After the crash, the 24-year-old driver of the SUV was ejected from the vehicle and died upon impact. A dog inside the SUV died as well. The semi truck jackknifed after the accident, and landed in a ditch in a grove of trees. The driver of the semi was unharmed in the accident. The exact cause of the fatal semi crash is under investigation.
