MO Driver Dies in Semi Crash

|

Tragically a man died Monday evening when two semi trucks and a car collided. Furthermore, 37-year-old, David Lee Conway of Warrenton, MO was involved in the fatal crash that happened on I-55 near Braceville. According to police, a semi truck was stopped on the right shoulder of the road in the southbound lane. As the semi began to merge back into traffic, another tractor-trailer who was also in the right lane struck the back of the first truck. After the impact, both semi trucks lost control and caught fire.

The first semi also overturned and came to a rest in the southbound lane. Conway was the driver of the overturned semi, and was ejected from the truck. Sadly Conway was found outside of his truck, still in his seat and seatbelt. Conway died at the scene. The driver of the other semi was 59-year-old, Gregory Horne of Morton, IL and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Horne was cited for failure to yield to oncoming traffic. The crash is still under investigation.
