Memorial Held For Student Struck While Riding A Bike By Elderly Woman

A mother has created a memorial for her son a John Hopkins Student who was hit by a car while riding his bike near the campus four years ago. The accident happened when an 83 year old women was turning into her apartment whereby hitting the son and pinning him beneath her vehicle. The son suffered severe brain damage and was in a coma for over six months. The son eventually passed away from these injuries.

The mother has now developed a seminar called Americans for Older Driver Safety to help the elderly recognize their capacity when driving and also help them drive more safely. For this seminar she performs classes to instruct the elderly about potential diminished abilities behind the wheel in the hopes to prevent future accidents like this from occurring,
