Employee Loses Arm in Work Accident

An accident at the Rana Meal Solutions Plant has severely injured a 25-year-old employee. The incident occurred in Bartlett, Illinois on Friday around 3 p.m. when the employee's arm became lodged in an industrial mixer. Emergency workers spent nearly an hour extricating the man from the machine, but his arm was unable to be saved. The worker was airlifted to the hospital and his current condition remains unknown.

Accidents that occur in the workplace can leave workers with life-altering injuries or even result in death. In Missouri, companies with five or more employees are required to carry workers' compensation insurance. This insurance provides injured workers with benefits to cover medical treatment and lost wages while the employee is away from work. Unfortunately, the insurance provides lost wage compensation at a rate of 66.6%. In order to attempt to recover the additional lost wages, it's imperative to contact a workers' compensation attorney.
