St. Louis Jury Finds Johnson And Johnson Negligent, Again

St. Louis Jury Finds Johnson And Johnson Negligent, Again

A St. Louis jury ruled last Thursday in a product liability case against Johnson & Johnson. The St. Louis jury awarded a California woman more than $70 million. The Modesto, California woman sued Johnson & Johnson, alleging that years of using Johnson & Johnson's baby powder caused her cancer.

The trial that began on September 26 ended almost a month later. The plaintiff was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2012, and she claimed is was caused by Johnson & Johnson's baby powder. The lawsuit claimed Johnson & Johnson was negligent in the making and marketing its baby powder and the St. Louis jury agreed.

This case is just one of many that are raising concerns about the health ramifications of extended talcum powder use. Two other lawsuits in St. Louis in the last year ended in jury verdicts worth a combined $127 million. A judge in New Jersey threw out two similar cases claiming there wasn't reliable evidence that talc leads to ovarian cancer. The trouble is far from over for the Johnson & Johnson Company, with thousands of other similar lawsuits still pending.

If you have developed ovarian cancer and you believe it was caused by your use of Johnson and Johnson’s products, there is still time to file your claim with St. Louis’ most trusted personal injury attorneys at Meyerkord and Meyerkord, LLC.
