Passengers Filed Lawsuit Against American Airlines After Chicago Fire

Last month, several passengers onboard the American Airlines were injured when the plane caught fire on the tarmac of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. According to authorities, eighteen passengers have filed a lawsuit against American Airlines, engine manufacturer GE Aviation, and Boeing. According to the lawsuit, GE Aviation allegedly sold a faulty engine to Boeing. Boeing then used that faulty engine to assemble an unsafe aircraft. GE Aviation is a subsidiary of General Electric. The lawsuit also states that American Airlines employees should have done a better job inspecting the plane before the fire occurred.

On Friday, October 28, American Airlines Flight 383 aborted takeoff due to an engine-related mechanical issue. A massive fire broke out, and the crew immediately evacuated the plane, narrowly escaping catastrophe. Several passengers were injured in the process.
