One Child is Dead After a Tragic Car Crash

Tragically, a child was killed in an auto accident in Brentwood, Tennessee on Wednesday. According to police, a Jeep Wrangler crashed into the rear-end of a Honda Odyssey minivan with great force on Old Hickory Boulevard. A 7-year-old boy seated in a booster seat in the third row of the minivan was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where sadly, he was pronounced dead. The boy’s 38-year-old mother was driving the minivan and was treated for non-life threatening injuries along with her 9-year-old son. The 24-year-old driver of the Jeep was not injured and claims he was distracted just before the crash when his backpack slid off the front seat and he went to grab it. The Metro Nashville Police Department reported no evidence was found that either driver was under the influence or impaired. The NDP also reported all children in the minivan were wearing safety belt.
