Pedestrian killed along I-70 in STL

Monday began with a tragic start in St. Louis following a hit-and-run accident that killed a young woman. In addition, local police are searching for a dark, GMC SUV with front-end damage, which struck a woman on I-70 near Lambert Airport. The accident happened around 1:00 am when two women were walking on the side of 70 west when the SUV struck one of the women, killing her instantly.

Sadly, the SUV driver made no attempt to slow down following the accident, and fled from the scene. The woman who was killed has not been identified, but is 20-years-old, and from the St. Louis area. Luckily, the other woman walking with her was uninjured. I-70 was closed for several hours following the accident, but has since reopened.
