Thursday night Interstate 71 was closed for about 8 hours after a fatal chain-reaction crash. In addition, the crash happened in late in the evening on the southbound lane near the Verona exit when a semi driver hit the side of an empty car, which was on the side of the interstate. As a result, the semi lost control and crossing over the median into oncoming traffic and hit two other vehicles head-on. One of the drivers hit head-on was, 45-year-old, Mark Sevilla that as killed at the scene. 64-year-old, Sandra Edwards, drove the other vehicle hit and she was airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the semi only had minor injuries from the crash. The exact cause of the crash is under investigation.
