Tragically, a Mardi Gras party turned fatal after a young couple was killed in a car accident Sunday. Furthermore, the accident happened in Galveston, Texas when 19-year-old, Kendal Reed crossed the centerline on Seeawall Boulevard, and stuck a concrete poll. Bystanders pulled Reed's girlfriend from the vehicle, and within moments the car burst into flames. Unfortunately although officers tried in vain to free Reed from his seat using crowbars and hammers, they were unable to do so.
Reed was still in the vehicle as it caught fire, and was killed at the scene. Reed's 20-year-old girlfriend, Sara Santana was taken to a nearby hospital with massive trauma, and sadly was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The couple leaves behind a 7-month-old son named, Bentley. Thus far, police are unsure whether or not alcohol played a role in the crash.
