Slick roads snarl traffic throughout Tennessee

If you're planning on driving through Tennessee anytime in the next few days, you may want to plan ahead. In addition, due to a wintery weather mix throughout the area Monday, state officials have declared many major interstates in the region in a state of emergency. Likewise, the winter weather has contributed to several accidents in the region shutting down portions of the roads. One semi accident involved several vehicles, which closed down both sides of Interstate 24 near Briley Parkway.

Another massive crash happened on Interstate 65 when another semi crashed into a car near mile marker 64, which injured several motorists. Monday the road conditions deteriorated quickly and caused havoc for motorists, as well as backed up two major interstates; the interstate was closed south of Murfreesboro Road. Overall, there were 11 crashes on the interstates, and 42 accidents total in Nashville by 11 p.m. Monday night.
