Fatality in New Jersey accident identified

Sadly, 57-year-old, Leonard David Bowens died as a result of a highway accident, which happened Wednesday on Route 3 in Secaucus, New Jersey. In addition, the accident happened when a van that Bowens was a passenger in became crushed by a steel structure that had fallen off of a semi. Furthermore, the semi had just crashed into the overpass on Route 3, which caused the material to fall from its trailer.

52-year-old van driver, Daulton Banks, was also injured in the crash and was rushed to a nearby hospital after the accident. The damage to the van from the steel structure was so significant; it was pinned against a column on the Paterson Plank Road overpass and both Banks and Bowens had to be extracted from the vehicle by emergency cres. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
