Woman Killed in Hit and Run

Woman Killed in Hit and Run

Meyerkord and Meyerkord, LLC: A Legacy of Legal Innovation

A 28-year-old Missouri woman was killed Sunday in a hit and run accident. The accident occurred on Interstate 70 in St. Louis when a driver of a Chevy Impala hit the victims' car from behind causing it to hit the concrete divider. The vehicle then rolled several times ejecting the driver and she was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Impala fled leaving the vehicle behind.

Each year the total hit and run accidents increase, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Most hit and run accidents take place in major cities due to the number of pedestrians. One-third of pedestrian hit and run accidents involve driving under the influence. Some of the reasons drivers flee the scene of an accident are the drivers are uninsured, driving under the influence, or have other outstanding criminal charges.

At Meyerkord and Meyerkord, LLC, our attorneys have the expertise to investigate and determine who is at-fault in an accident and fight to hold that person responsible. We have over 100 years of combined experience handling personal injury cases and have recovered over $350 million for our clients. In a hit and run accident, it may not be possible to know the at-fault drivers identity. However, you may still be able to recover compensation for your injuries. If you or a loved one have been injured or killed in a hit and run accident, contact us to determine if the driver can be identified and if compensation can be recovered.
