Two Men Killed On Chicago Freeway

Meyerkord & Kurth, LLC: A Legacy of Legal Innovation

Two Chicago men were killed on the Bishop Ford Freeway on the south side of Chicago Sunday morning. As they drove in their vehicle, a semi truck had slowed in front of them for a construction zone and the driver struck the rear of the truck lodging the vehicle under it and killing both him and the passenger. Initial reports indicate that speed was the cause of the accident. Both victims were in the mid twenties.

Distraction and recklessness are major causes of traffic accidents and thousands of accidents each year are preventable. According to statisticbrain.com, there are 5,400,000 non-fatal car crashes each year and in 2013 there were 35,244 fatal accidents. A victim of a car accident does not have to be in a separate vehicle to have a claim, they can be the passenger in the at fault drivers' vehicle.
