Tuesday morning in Arizona was a busy mess filled with accidents along highways 87 and 260 which closed them in both directions. Furthermore, the first accident happened when a semi rolled over on the eastbound lane on highway 260 near Christopher Creek. As a result, junk and debris which the truck was hauling was thrown all over the roadway which contributed to the backup. Following the semi crash, the driver was pinned inside his truck, and once extracted was flown to a nearby hospital with several injuries.
Likewise, on highway 87, a truck which was hauling hay caught fire thus blocking the southbound lanes for sometime. Additionally, there were reports of several other single roll-over vehicle crashes which occurred along the same highways that contributed to the messy morning. Alongside Tuesday morning, the preceding weekend was just as chaotic. For instance, Friday night six people are lucky to be alive after their vehicle slammed into one another on highway 260, and Thursday there were three separate rollover crashes, with two more to follow on Saturday. There was inclimate weather that week which may have contributed to the mass accidents along the two highways. Drivers not slowing down for the bad weather didn’t help much as well. Either way, it was remarkable that no one was seriously hurt or killed in any of the many vehicle crashes.
