One killed in semi crash

A fatal semi crash occurred Monday in Elkhart County, Indiana, which left one person dead. Furthermore, the accident happened on U.S. 20 near the bypass in the afternoon when a semi carrying a dumpster stopped on the shoulder of the road. As the semi was parked, it was hit by another tractor-trailer that was carrying pigs, and had veered while trying to stay away from traffic.

As a result, the stopped semi was flipped over, rolled down an embankment, and pinned the 46-year-old driver inside. Sadly, the driver of that semi was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries. The other semi driver was uninjured, yet many of the pigs that they were hauling were killed or injured due to the accident. Although the exact cause for the semi to have veered away from traffic is unknown, the accident is still under investigation.
